Maxwell Air Force Base is located in south central Alabama on the northwestern outskirts of Montgomery. The main gate is located on the south side of the base near I-65. It is always open.
The closest off-base hotels are a few miles east of I-65 near Tallapoosa and Commerce Streets in Montgomery. More hotels are located farther south on I-65 and to the east along I-85.
